Company Profile

The Group of Companies has its origin in the requirement, in the early 1980's, to have a scientific base for Security System design. Consulting Engineers from the private sector were appointed by a consortium of interested parties to develop the theory and to implement design methodology based on provable theoretical principles.

Mr ver Loren van Themaat, as Consulting Engineering partner of a mayor consulting concern, developed the theory and wrote an "expert system" able to simulate all possible scenarios and thereby predicting the efficiency and cost/benefit ratios for different physical security systems as well as finding the ideal manpower/technology ratios.

As part of the development, the mathematical parameters of different technologies and systems had to be determined which led to the creation of "Security and Electronics Laboratories (Pty) Ltd"   in 1981 as a specialist measurement and testing facility of security products which later became involved in the improvement and design of physical security products.

The theory developed was and is widely used to implement systems and led to many international papers being read as well as many international patents.
